K2 (K2.com) today announced several new features for K2 blackpearl, software that enables enterprises to build and run business applications, including forms, workflow, data and reports.
K2 blackpearl 4.6.5 provides powerful new capabilities that make it easier to integrate applications with line-of-business systems and scale those applications according to an organisation's needs.
"Connecting people to information is the issue every modern business is trying to solve," said Jake Braly, director of product marketing at K2. "To that end, K2 is focused on delivering visual tools for business applications that keep processes on track, serve up the right data, allow better collaboration and foster better business decisions.
"The latest updates to K2 blackpearl are all about increased speed, ease and power and making those efficiencies possible for a greater number of companies."
New K2 blackpearl 4.6.5 features include:
* Endpoint Service Broker: A K2 service broker allows customers to integrate applications with any line-of-business system via Web services, WCF endpoints and .NET assemblies. The broker allows for complex-type support using serialisation objects, and it ensures a customer can integrate with more line-of-business systems than ever before.
* SmartWizard framework: Utilising K2's SmartObject framework, customers can create declarative K2 wizards against SmartObject methods, providing a quick, no-code way to extend K2 workflow functionality.
* K2 for SharePoint 2013 in SharePoint 2010 mode: For current K2 customers who have upgraded or are planning to upgrade to SharePoint 2013, existing K2 assets can run in SharePoint 2013 sites that are in SharePoint 2010 mode.
For current K2 customers, K2 blackpearl 4.6.5 is available for download from the K2 Partner and Customer Portal. For full details about the update, as well as more information about the new components listed above, visit K2.com.
