Health is clearly the new wealth, says Gary Novitzka, founder of Juniva.com.

Founder of the now defunct e-commerce site Kalahari.com, Gary Novitzkas, has opened health and wellness e-commerce site Juniva.com.

Novitzkas sold Kahahari.com to rival Takealot.com in January this year, after the merger had initially been announced in October last year.

In a sea of health, wellness and fitness material, consumers often find it a nightmare to make an choice and shopping for these items online can be even more overwhelming, says Novitzkas.

He notes e-tailer Juniva.com takes the guesswork out of supplement and wellness shopping by giving advice and offering products to customers.

According to Novitzkas, the new site resonates with business professionals, mothers, and fitness and professional athletes who want to buy vitamins, supplements, sports nutrition and weight management products at the click of a button.

"There are so many nutrition choices on the market and consumers are often confused," he notes.

Novitzkas says he established the new site to establish and develop a global brand conveniently delivering heath solutions and products to the public.

"We believe that health is clearly the new wealth and felt there was a shortage of quality, unbiased information about the vitamin, supplement and sports nutrition market. The logical next step from there was to the look for the best vehicle to provide informed choices and directly supply the necessary products, and thus Juniva.com came into being."

He points out online addresses many inefficiencies in the buying process, namely , product discovery and convenience. "We wanted to use these elements to improve the all-round purchasing experience and convenience for our customers.

"In the near-term, we plan to continue evolving our product ranges both locally and ultimately globally in collaboration with customer and industry feedback, while at the same time introducing exciting new technology that improves the product discovery process and purchasing convenience."
