In today's fast-paced and competitive world, Internet connectivity is mission-critical for both personal and business users. However, hackers and cyber criminals are increasingly putting users at risk of virus infections and theft of data.
"Cyber crime is increasing exponentially, and every computer user is at risk. This is especially worrying for companies, which have legal reasons to protect their networks as well as the financial risks cyber crime poses," says Simon Campbell-Young, CEO of Phoenix Distribution. "Trojans can infiltrate any unprotected system, as well as many protected systems, and harvest data, record keystrokes, record live chat dialogue and re-send data back to the 'mother-ship'. This information can then be used fraudulently without you even being aware that your system was breached."
World-leading security software manufacturer, Kaspersky Lab is at the forefront of the fight against cyber crime, where its products are constantly being improved on to ensure they are one step ahead of the 'bad guys'. In fact, the effectiveness of the company's technology is evident in the results, where Kaspersky has once again beat all its competitors in the most recent AV-Test.
Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows came out on top in independent testing of business solutions conducted by AV-Test throughout September and October 2012. Three categories of tests evaluated the products' protection parameters, their ability to repair an infected system and their overall usability. The results placed Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows first, well ahead of the rest of the field.
The in-depth analysis by AV-Test consists of three test categories: Protection against malware infections, cleaning and repair of an infected system, and product impact on the usability of a computer.
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows scored an impressive 16.5 points out of a possible 18 for all three categories and was the clear winner among the corporate security solutions for workstations. The product detected all the widespread threats in the AV-Test collection. Ninety-two percent of the very latest complex malicious samples were neutralised in September's tests, with the figure rising to 100% for testing conducted in October. Kaspersky Lab's corporate solution detected all the malware on the infected system and removed the vast majority of malicious objects, earning top marks for the second group of tests.
In addition, Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 did not generate any critical false warnings when scanning Windows and Office applications that were downloaded and installed by the AV-Test experts. During a full system scan of more than 650 000 popular programs and sites, the product made just one slip, which the experts described as the least critical.
"Threats to data are not limited to attacks from external sources. Companies have to protect their networks at every access point, and therefore solutions like Kaspersky Endpoint Security are essential. Just when you think you've battened down the hatches and fully protected yourself or your business from electronic security risks, along comes a new exploit to keep you up at night. It might be an SMS text message with a malevolent payload, or a stalker who dogs your every step online. Results like these offer peace of mind, knowing that Kaspersky has your back," Campbell-Young concludes.
