Louis Helmbold has been appointed as the Networking Business Development Manager at IT distributor Axiz, where he will be responsible for developing the networking and data centre value division.
“My key responsibility is to grow the networking division within Axiz by creating a range of value-added services, and I look forward to the challenge,” he says.
Helmbold has been associated with HP Networking as a partner and distributor since 1988.
He joined ProCurve Networking, in South Africa, in 2001. He was responsible for the reintroduction of its products to English-speaking Africa. He moved to the ProCurve team in Dubai in early 2007, and relocated back to South Africa in June 2009, joining Axiz in April 2010.
During his career, Helmbold has obtained various industry qualifications such as CNE, MCSE, MCT and HP ProCurve MASE. He also studied social work and psychology at the former Rand Afrikaans University, now the University of Johannesburg. Since then, Helmbold has also been responsible for some large infrastructure designs and implementations.
