KeyTools today announced the appointment of iFactory as one of its value-added resellers.
"Mobile software applications offer exciting potential for business and the public sector in terms of increased productivity and better service to customers," commented Tony Forbes, CEO of iFactory.
"As a software developer, iFactory wants to position itself for this wave of opportunity. To this end, partnering with KeyTools gives us a huge and immediate step towards the enhancement of our mobile application development capability that will enable us to take advantage of this market situation. KeyTools has been active in this market space for six years and brings significant value in terms of experience, capacity, mature tools and methods. In addition, they also have an international footprint. In short, we are excited to team with a credible player.
"We are very excited about this new relationship with KeyTools as the latter`s mobile capability can mobile-enable many of the application solutions that we are developing and have already developed, in ways that not only differentiates them further but offers added value capabilities in a uniquely competitive way," continued Forbes.
"With KeyTools also being an Oracle ISV and a locally-based company, this relationship potentially creates many new opportunities for both organisations. They have a unique set of capabilities, which I am sure we can exploit together for the benefit of both companies.
"We are always looking for new and local ways to exploit mobile software and our mobile software development capabilities," added Richard Chalk, Founder and CEO of KeyTools International. "With iFactory being a full BEE organisation, I am confident that this relationship will open up many different and exciting new opportunities."
Apart from specific mobile applications such as GlobalOrder, KeyAssess, KeyLife and mobiSCAN; KeyTools has also developed TransPhormer, a browser-independent remote data transfer protocol, which is loaded onto a dedicated server or within a partition of an existing server and is fully scalable. It allows information to be transferred with reduced connectivity time, reduced security risk, reduced data throughput and increased accuracy to a PDA, eg palmtop, laptop and certain smart phones.
When activated, TransPhormer enables data transmission via GPRS/GSM, HSCSD, or Bluetooth technologies, between the PDA and a company`s server that is hooked into its database, eg ERP, CRM, support and financial, therefore making mobile application commerce a realistic and cost-effective proposition.
