KeyTools today announced that Becker Realty had embraced its latest application solution, Mobile Agent, a product that handles sales, rentals and much of the associated administrative activities for estate agents and other similar organisations.
Mobile Agent enables agents in the field to search their database for appropriate properties via their PDAs/laptops when together with their potential clients and thus arrange visits for viewing potentially suitable properties at this single meeting.
An initial search for appropriate properties is undertaken, for instance, using criteria such as the location, price range, property type and number of bedrooms requested.
Advanced searches can then take this capability to another level, focusing on the detailed requirements of the potential buyers/renters, eg number of bathrooms, study/family room, staff accommodation and garages. Additionally, new properties can be added to the database and various administrative tasks undertaken from either the agent`s mobile device or from the office via conventional Internet access through a graphical user interface (GUI) that has also been developed by KeyTools.
"We were looking at new ways to increase our efficiency and our effectiveness," commented Gary de Menezes, proprietor of Beck Realty. "The utilisation of Mobile Agent addresses both of these issues and, for example, minimises the number of `dead calls` we historically were involved with."
"We perfected Mobile Agent in conjunction with Becker Realty," added Richard Chalk, CEO and Founder of KeyTools International. "We will host this capability as an ASP service for Becker Realty and any other company that chooses to utilise this capability."
Apart from specific mobile applications such as GlobalOrder, KeyAssess, KeyLife and mobiSCAN, KeyTools has also developed TransPhormer, a browser-independent remote data transfer protocol, which is loaded onto a dedicated server or within a partition of an existing server and is fully scalable. It allows information to be transferred with reduced connectivity time, reduced security risk, reduced data throughput and increased accuracy to a PDA, eg palmtop, laptop and certain smart phones. When activated, TransPhormer enables data transmission via GPRS/GSM, HSCSD, or Bluetooth technologies, between the PDA and a company`s server that is hooked into its database, eg ERP, CRM, support and financial, therefore making mobile application commerce a realistic and cost-effective proposition.
