KeyTools sets up UK office

Johannesburg, 13 May 2004

KeyTools International today announced the setting-up of a UK office, KeyToolsMobile, that is to headed-up by Howard Shaw as its managing director.

"We have been operating in the UK for some time through a number of business partners," commented Richard Chalk, founder and CEO of Key Tools International. "We believe the time is now right to set up our direct UK operation and Howard Shaw, who heads up this new venture for us, has worked in partnership with KeyTools for over two years and thus I have every confidence in him re this new initiative."

Apart from specific mobile applications such as GlobalOrder, KeyAssess, KeyLife and mobiSCAN, KeyTools has also developed TransPhormer, a browser-independent remote data transfer protocol, which is loaded onto a dedicated server or within a partition of an existing server and is fully scalable.

It allows information to be transferred with reduced connectivity time, reduced security risk, reduced data throughput and increased accuracy to a PDA, eg palmtop, laptop and certain smart phones. When activated, TransPhormer enables data transmission via GPRS/GSM, HSCSD, or Bluetooth technologies, between the PDA and a company`s server that is hooked into its database, eg ERP, CRM, support and financial, therefore making mobile application commerce a realistic and cost-effective proposition.
