Softworx, master reseller for enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendor SSA Global, has launched KickSTART, a ready to install solution focused on the business needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The solution is based on SSA Global`s new generation Baan 6 ERP software.
"By automating processes, SMEs will become more effective and better meet the needs of their customers in a cost-effective way," says Softworx MD Jane Thomson.
"KickSTART has been developed specifically for the SME sector and is not simply a tailored ERP solution which existed already," comments Thomson.
The solution is available in four business streams: manufacturing, inventory management, service and projects. By providing these preconfigured solutions based on best practice business processes, companies are able to implement a solution based on actual needs within the various sectors, says the company.
Once the standard model has been implemented, it can be changed to meet the company`s changing business processes. According to Thomson, research has proven that the majority of business processes falls within a certain band and through Baan`s integrated technology, KickSTART is able to customise the process to fit the specific idiosyncrasies of each business.
Apart from Johannesburg, the first phase of KickSTART includes partners in Cape Town, Durban, Gaberone and Niarobi.
