KID increases data analysis with Netmap

Johannesburg, 31 Aug 2000

Knowledge Integration Dynamics (KID) has increased its customers` analysis capabilities after being awarded distribution for Alta Europe`s Netmap data analysis tool, and integrating Netmap`s local skills and customer-base into the company.

"Netmap provides detailed analysis and data filtering functionality by identifying and graphically displaying patterns, trends and relationships contained in corporate data," says Paul van der Merwe, director of KID. "Managers can easily spot and dynamically filter this information to find trends and patterns in their business processes.

"Netmap supports train-of-thought analysis and assists users in following their instincts through visual representations of the data to discover patterns without needing to know any database programming techniques or having to ask an IT person to design a report," he explains.

"Organisations consider their data warehousing and analytical applications as critical components of enterprise IT systems," says Aubrey van Aswegen, MD of KID. "Netmap will therefore complement and extend KID`s current data warehousing and analysis , based on Informix Red Brick, and open numerous new business opportunities to the company, while enabling them to offer extended value to existing customers."

"Business analysts want the solution, not the complexity," says David Snocken, MD of Alta Europe, "and they want answers to their queries fast enough to encourage market basket analysis. Netmap permits this, complementing other analysis techniques and presenting the data visually to allow analysts to look at it from various angles."
