Kingston releases memory supporting new Apple Power Mac G4, iMac systems

Johannesburg, 28 Jul 2000

In step with Apple Computer`s release of two new Power Mac G4 systems and a colourful new iMac family, Kingston Technology Company is providing memory to support these systems.

"Kingston is right in line with memory to maximise the performance available from these hot new Apple systems," says Ian Rayner, Kingston brand manager at AXiZ. "Whether it`s a lightning quick Power Mac G4 with dual processors, a super-computing Power Mac G4 Cube or one of the beautiful new iMac models, performance can be optimised with the right amount of memory."

Touted as delivering twice the computing power of earlier G4 models, the new Power Mac G4 comes standard with either 64MB, 128MB or 256MB of memory. Power Mac G4`s can maximize capacity to 1.5GB with combinations of 64MB (KTA-G4/64), 128MB (KTA-G4/128), 256MB (KTA-G4/256) or 512MB (KTA-G4/512) of Kingston memory.

Compact and boldly designed in an eight-inch cube, the new Power Mac G4 Cube offers more computing power than systems quadruple its size. Beginning with a standard 64MB memory module, the Cube can be ramped up to support a maximum of 1.5GB. Kingston memory supporting G4 systems supports both the G4 dual processor model and the Cube.

Available in five new colours and four models to choose from, the new iMac family ships with either 64MB or 128MB of memory, depending on the edition selected. Kingston offers memory in 64MB (KTA-iMAC100/64), 128MB (KTA-iMAC100/128), 256MB (KTA-iMAC100/256), and 512MB (KTA-iMAC100/512) configurations supporting the new iMac models. Each iMac may be upgraded to a maximum of 1GB of memory, using two 512MB Kingston modules.

With annual sales over $1.5 billion in 1999, Kingston offers a complete line of memory, storage, and PC enhancement products. With strictly regulated ISO-registered facilities in the United States (ISO 9001), Ireland (ISO 9002), Malaysia (ISO 9002) and Taiwan (ISO 9002), Kingston markets its products through an extensive worldwide of distributors, major reseller chains and independent dealers.
