Kingston Technology has announced the limited availability of PC2700 memory modules for system builders. The Kingston PC2700 DIMMs are compliant with the latest 333MHz DDR memory chip specifications approved by JEDEC, and destined for use on motherboards supporting PC2700 memory. Kingston products are distributed in southern Africa by Axiz.
In 2002, the transition to DDR memory technology is quickly expected to take place across all platforms, including desktop PCs, workstations, notebooks, servers and other networking/communications platforms, resulting in DDR becoming the dominant memory technology in 2003.
"By introducing PC2700 memory to system builders which are planning to introduce the fastest DDR memory platforms in early 2002 Kingston Technology is further demonstrating its market leadership. The new PC2700 memory modules are thoroughly tested on the Agilent( 83000 platform to verify specifications and also tested on available platforms based on the SiS( 645(tm) chipset that supports PC2700," says Ian Rayner, Kingston brand manager at Axiz.
Kingston Technology is shipping the 128MB and 256MB PC2700 DIMMs in limited quantities to system builders, in order to prepare for their volume shipments of PC2700 ready systems in the first half of 2002.
