New Q Pasa! Support Provides Robust Monitoring for WebSphere MQ on the TPF Platform MQSoftware, Inc, a leading provider of middleware and transaction monitoring technology solutions, announced today that its flagship Q Pasa! middleware management system is the first solution to provide monitoring support for WebSphere MQ for TPF (Transaction Processing Facility) used by airlines, hotels and financial institutions worldwide.

Q Pasa! will provide first-ever out-of-the-box monitoring of MQ for TPF, providing dashboard visibility of MQ metrics, queues, events and associated technologies. MQSoftware also announced today that KLM, one of the world`s largest airlines based in the Netherlands, has licensed Q Pasa! to monitor its WebSphere MQ environment. KLM will co-present with MQSoftware at the TPF User Group meeting next week.

"We are pleased to be extending our platform support to include support for some of the world`s largest and most demanding transactional systems," said Bill Cecchi, president and CEO of MQSoftware, Inc. "With this announcement, TPF becomes another integrated technology in the Q Pasa! middleware management and monitoring product suite. Using our Q Pasa! management tool, TPF customers like KLM will be able to capitalise on our easy-to-use tools such as event management, as well as logical and physical views of TPF connections and objects."

Q Pasa! provides for the first time, complete visualisation of WebSphere MQ metrics for the TPF operating system, as well as other associated applications and technologies. TPF is a high-volume transaction processing system demanding fast response times and rigorous management. Having visibility of how event, connections and objects are functioning in real-time provides customers with an `edge` enabling them to deliver unparalleled service experiences in the competitive reservation business.

Alex de Has from KLM will be a co-presenter with Dr David Ching, MQSoftware`s Chief Technical Officer at the TPF User Group Meeting in Acapulco, Mexico on 18 May 2004. The title of their session is called, "How KLM Manages MQSeries on TPF - Using Q Pasa! to Monitor TPF MQSeries Resources". More information about the conference can be found at www.tpfug.com.

Q Pasa! was designed from the ground-up to manage middleware configurations, specifically the IBM WebSphere Business Integration family of products and their associated databases and technologies. Q Pasa! provides real-time information on the performance and availability of critical applications and infrastructure for IT staff so they can easily determine if they are meeting service level agreements by identifying problem areas and detecting trends-all of which contribute to seeing an accurate view of the enterprise.

TPF

TPF is a specialised operating system developed and marketed by International Business Machines Corporation for high volume transaction based applications and communications system used by corporations, both large and small, that require cost effective, high speed transaction processing. For example, TPF is used by most of the airlines for the reservations system, and also by finance companies for online credit checking and authorisation. Some of the larger users process upwards of 4 000-5 000 transactions per second while providing one to three second response times to their customer. TPF runs on IBM mainframe systems.
