On 28 June 2005, StatSoft SA, in conjunction with Novel Idea, held a one-day conference at the Midrand Conference Park.
The aim of this conference was to introduce customers who were interested in implementing Six Sigma methodology to the basic concepts, and also to share with them the experiences of several industry leaders, and to provide information on the fundamentals and do's and don'ts of implementing the systems to support Six Sigma and the value of using strategic data.
Topics included:
* The fundamentals of Six Sigma, how to adapt this as a leadership philosophy and linking projects to your overall business strategy.
* Learning how SAB Miller implemented Lean Six Sigma as part of its strategic operating practices programme.
* Learning how to choose and implement the tools and systems supporting Six Sigma programs and the do's and don'ts of these.
* Collecting and managing strategic data for Six Sigma.
* Learning how Venture used Six Sigma as a skills building initiative for its graduate student programme.
* Building skills in your organisation for Six Sigma, using registered learnerships.
It was a great opportunity for our customers to learn more on these topics, as well as to share in the experiences of colleagues, to obtain first-hand information of the successes of Six Sigma in organisations and learnings from the process. We are planning to run these once per quarter and will keep you informed on the next topics, dates and venues.
