Kodak to acquire scanner division
Eastman Kodak and B"owe Bell + Howell is in agreement for Kodak to acquire the scanner division of B"owe Bell + Howell, reports Yahoo Business.
The scanner division is a supplier of production document scanners to value-added resellers, systems integrators and end-users.
Based in the greater Chicago area, the scanner division is a worldwide business with locations in North America, Europe and Asia.
Konica Minolta rolls out Best
Konica Minolta has commenced with the bizhub Extended Solution Technology (Best) developer support programme, ECM Connection reports.
The programme is designed to provide customers with integrated, innovative solutions, enable members to become leaders in software development and accelerate the time to the marketplace.
The Best developer support programme enables developers to adapt existing applications to Konica Minolta devices or use successful Konica Minolta technologies, such as bizhub Open API, to create innovative solutions to previously unresolved challenges.
HP unveils iPrint Photo
HP has released a free application for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch, which allows users to print photos to most HP printers, according to Smarthouse.
The HP iPrint Photo is a free application available on the Apple App store, the company says. It provides wireless printing of 4x6-inch photos from an iPhone or iPod touch to most HP inkjet printers connected to a local WiFi network.
Guyon Collins, consumer business manager for HP's Imaging and Printing Group, Australia, says: "Until now, consumers had no easy way to print these special moments captured on their iPhone or stored on their iPod touch. This is a significant step forward in the history of HP's mobile printing innovations."
