Specifically designed for offices in which colour output is not always required but its input is essential, Konica Minolta South Africa, a Bidvest company, has announced the local availability of its new A3 multifunctional products (MFPs) - the bizhub 423 series.
The series - comprising the models bizhub 223, 283, 363 and 423 - delivers full office communication with monochrome printing, copying and faxing, as well as colour scanning. Output speeds range from 22 to 42 pages per minute, enhancing existing fleets with the appropriate capabilities.
“With its versatile scanning features, the new bizhubs make separate scan stations obsolete,” says Andrew Griffith, product manager for office products at Konica Minolta South Africa. “All four devices scan up to 70 originals per minute in both colour and monochrome.”
The standard scanning functionalities include scan-to-email, FTP, SMB, Box, USB and TWAIN and these multifunctional devices process all relevant formats, such as JPEG, TIFF, PDF, compact PDF, XPS and compact XPS.
“We are seeing a defined shift from monochrome to colour, with customers replacing office monochrome MFPs with colour MFPs, which has created an important opportunity for a series like this,” says Griffith. “Add to this the fact that 'green IT' is fast emerging as a key focus for businesses and that the 423 series' power consumption clears the TEC values set by the international Energy Star program, and you have the MFP of tomorrow, today.”
Even though the bizhub 423 series is a monochrome MFP, it offers a colour scanning function as a standard feature. Users can digitise colour originals as is, enabling greater sharing and re-use of paper documents while reducing the space required to store them, maximising efficient use of office space.
Konica's PageScope Enterprise Suite software enables administrators in consolidating and managing all colour and monochrome bizhub MFPs on the network. Limits can be set on maximum output levels, while biometric non-contact IC card user authentication can be used to increase efficiency and reduce the number of administrative processes required.
Griffith says the new MFPs complement the entire bizhub portfolio, covering monochrome print speeds up to 75 pages per minute and colour printing up to 50 pages per minute.
“All devices can be enhanced with extended applications and comprise the benefits of the bizhub Open Platform (OP) concept offering similar operation and feature sets,” he says. “This approach makes it easy to create unified internal processes and identical workflows in corporate environments.”
“These solutions simplify and speed up procedures and enhance productivity - saving company expenses across the board,” he concludes.
