Konica Minolta South Africa focuses on improved value proposition for local business

Johannesburg, 27 Feb 2009

Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa, is giving hope to local businesses forced to tighten belts in the face of the current bleak economic climate.

The company is offering free document production process audits in order to assist organisations in saving money on their bottom line. This audit will expose all facets of printing and paper consumption within an organisation.

"With the prospect of a tough year ahead - in the face of a sharp downturn in the worldwide economy which is affecting both developed and developing countries and may even lead to the 'second great depression', according to Trevor Manuel's 2009 budget speech - businesses across the globe are focusing more than ever on savings instead of consumption," says Alan Griffith, Managing Director of Konica Minolta South Africa.

"While this makes perfect sense on certain levels within the business, it can be most detrimental to a company's document production side," he explains. "Because technology is changing so swiftly, particularly over the past three to five years, it is becoming increasingly difficult for those businesses not staying abreast of development in document production to play catch up at a later stage."

Griffith believes that by taking advantage of Konica Minolta South Africa's audit offering, local organisations can take stock of existing document production products and processes, thereby establishing costs, identifying what can be consolidated and rationalised and seeing where money can be saved.

"This also provides an opportunity to look at the mechanisms in place to control document production costs and to implement the correct software in order to enable a company to pull together the necessary information for the monitoring and control of these costs.

"Businesses needing to improve equipment should look at a limited upgrade with the purpose of reducing upfront capital expenditure, while at the same time ensuring that there are no redundant machines, users are properly managed and costs are more tightly controlled,” Griffith explains.
