Konica Minolta South Africa named number one in first InfoSource six-month report for Africa

Johannesburg, 22 Oct 2008

Industry sales figures by InfoSource, an independent market research organisation, have revealed that Bidvest company Konica Minolta South Africa has strengthened its position to become South Africa's number one player in multifunctional printing systems (MFPs) in the first half of 2008.

This marks the first time that InfoSource has announced six-month results for Africa, in addition to its annual research findings.

"Based on the numbers put forward by InfoSource, within the first six months of 2008, Konica Minolta South Africa has achieved the number one player status, with 20% of the total multifunctional printing system (MFP) market share," explains Alan Griffith, Managing Director at Konica Minolta South Africa.

"Not only has our leading position within the colour segment been strengthened to 44.7%, but for the first time, Konica Minolta South Africa has reached the number one position in the black and white market with 18.6% market share."

In the same six-monthly report produced for Europe, InfoSource has also announced that Konica Minolta is number one in both Western and Eastern Europe in the full-colour MFP segment. "It is wonderful to see that a South African company is following the same path as its European counterparts, showing that we have seen good growth and met our projected targets over the first half of the year," says Griffith. "InfoSource's first six-month report for Africa has been most valuable as supplementary data to its annual results and we look forward to seeing the next instalment."
