Konica Minolta South Africa wins top global performer title for sixth time

Johannesburg, 29 Jun 2011

Konica Minolta Business Technologies has named Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa as the best global performer for 2010 at its annual recent conference, held in Shanghai, China. This marks the sixth consecutive win for the local company, which competed against 29 other rival countries this year.

According to Konica Minolta South Africa MD, Alan Griffith, the award was made based on the total number of units sold over the year. “Konica Minolta South Africa saw a fantastic 38% year-on-year growth over 2010. We have seen a slow but sure recovery from the recession locally and it is most heartening to experience such an improvement in demand.

“Being positioned as number one globally by Konica Minolta Business Technologies only serves to reinforce the fact that we have 968 unbelievable people within the company, and that bizhub truly is the number one MFP brand in South Africa,” he says.

In addition to winning the event's most prestigious award, Konica Minolta South Africa's Arthur Pereira was named the winner of the world colour champions league. This means that, as an individual, Pereira sold the most colour machines worldwide for 2010.

“We are extremely proud of Arthur's achievements,” Griffith states. “He joined Konica Minolta South Africa 17 years ago as a technician, before deciding to give the sales side a try. From humble beginnings as an inexperienced sales person who had to start off with new accounts, our customers' regard for Arthur is quite obvious, and this is certainly reflected in his recent award win.

“We believe that both of these accolades give current and new clients even greater security in the knowledge that they are dealing with the best supplier in the market,” he adds.
