Konica Minolta unveils training tools

Konica Minolta Business Solutions has unveiled a business development programme, reports What They Think.

The programme focuses on helping customers drive revenue growth in the production print marketplace by providing customers with educational tools, white papers, videos, Web seminars, and ROI calculators.

"The printing industry is ever-changing, and it is more important than ever for print service providers to establish a solid strategy that is in line with new market developments," says Kevin Kern, senior vice-president of marketing at Konica Minolta.

HP warns of printer costs

Top HP executives in the Asia-Pacific region, who gathered in Beijing to unveil a range of printers and other products in mid-April, say the printer in the corner can be a cash guzzler, states The Hindu.

In large enterprises with tens or hundreds of printers, the printing facility can use 3% to 15% of the company's revenue. In general, large businesses in India have not given much thought to the humble printer, meaning one can find multiple generations of printers of various makes in the same office, says Ravi Aggarwal, president of HP India's Imaging and Printing Group.

Add to this the fact that many large organisations in India have offices across the country and that printers would have been purchased locally. The bottom line is there are a lot of savings to be made just by 'managing' the printer at an office.

OfficeJet 4500 released in India

HP has released its OfficeJet 4500 range of all-in-one printers in India, writes Silicon India.

HP says the 4500 series is an energy-efficient printing device that is multifunctional and compact.

“This new series of printers will help the users with increased task efficiency, and reduced cost per page,” says Rajkumar Rishi, director of inkjet and Web solutions, HP.
