Konica Minolta's pagepro 4650EN and pagepro 5650EN for professional printing with quick confidence

The new pagepro 4650EN and pagepro 5650EN are two of Konica Minolta's top range monochrome A4 printers available in South Africa through Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa.

Developed for medium to large workgroups with high monochrome output, the printers score with elevated print speed, enhanced image reproduction and cost efficiency. Both the pagepro 4650EN and the pagepro 5650EN are equipped with the high performance Emperon controller, making integration into a wide variety of IT environments smoother and easier.

"Fast and reliable printing is vital to any workgroup or corporate office users," says Paul Symonds, product manager at Konica Minolta South Africa.

"The new pagepro 4650EN delivers 34 monochrome pages per minute and the pagepro 5650EN produces 43 monochrome printouts in 60 seconds. Both printers feature the latest Emperon controller with 500MHz processing, 128MB standard memory and Gigabit Ethernet ensuring a reliable and consistent printing performance.

"Productivity can further be enhanced with an optional duplexer, offset stacker and extra lower paper feeders," he adds.

Besides print speed, the pagepro 4560EN and pagepro 5650EN excel at printing capability. With a resolution of 1200x1200 dpi, both devices create razor-sharp text and excellent monochrome images, suitable for tables or graphs in reports.

Furthermore, they accommodate a large range of office printing requirements. All available paper feeders can process various paper types with a weight of up to 216gsm. Thus, users are able to print special documents such as invoices, orders, labels or packing lists on their desired media and at their convenience. Both devices come with optional lower paper feeders boosting each pagepro's paper input capacity to 1 800 sheets. Users can also opt for an offset stacker increasing output capacity to 500 sheets.

"When it comes to controlling and managing one's printing the pagepro 4650EN and pagepro 5650EN combine convenience with security," explains Symonds. "The secure printing option requires users to determine an alphanumerical password on their computer. Only after the same code has been entered on the printer's front panel will the documents be printed."

USB connectivity is a further advantage of the new devices: PDF, TIFF or JPEG files can be printed directly from a USB stick without the need for a computer. In order to make use of the latter two functionalities, an optional hard disk is required.

The two printers' integration into existing IT environments or printing infrastructures could not be easier; the next-generation Emperon system makes sure they blend in smoothly. At the same time, the Emperon system is also responsible for the devices' compatibility with several printing languages like PS3 and PCL6 as well as with a range of operating systems and business applications. The pagepro 4650EN and pagepro 5650EN support XPS (XML Paper Specification) file format from Microsoft Vista, thereby significantly improving data sharing and printing.

"The new pagepro 4650EN and pagepro 5650EN allow their users to stay on top of urgent business matters and heavy printing tasks," says Symonds. "The devices stand for reliability, outstanding print capability and productivity. They allow medium to large workgroups to print professionally and with quick confidence."
