KPMG SA has been appointed as an Oracle Certified Solution Partner and is now able to leverage worldwide partner branding to differentiate its offerings from the competition.
In addition, KPMG SA can maximise its benefits through Oracle`s marketing efforts and worldwide presence.
"Other highlights geared to expanding KPMG`s market include additional development licenses, lead generation activities, access to market development funds, greater educational discounts, and field sales support," says Carey Cotterill, alliance manager at Oracle SA.
KPMG is the global network of professional advisory firms whose aim it is to turn knowledge into value for the benefit of its clients, its people and the community.
According to Cotterill, KPMG is already an Oracle global partner and is the first such company to achieve local status in terms of Oracle SA`s partner programme.
"By joining our local partner programme, KPMG echoes the excellent commitment that it has to Oracle worldwide," she says.
The Oracle Partner Programme philosophy is to offer partners the opportunity to work toward progressively higher levels of privileged access to Oracle resources, in exchange for deeper levels of commitment to Oracle.
The structure, programmes, and resources were all designed to solicit feedback from partners regarding the ways in which Oracle can help them grow their business.
Oracle has introduced a range of new education, support, sales and marketing tools to help partners differentiate, promote and market solutions or services, especially in new areas such as the Internet.
"Oracle provides the leading-edge technology, education, and technical support to enable partners to effectively integrate Oracle into their business. The combination of Oracle`s technology and its partners` expertise broadens both Oracle`s and its partner`s potentials to dominate the Internet space together," maintains Cotterill.
According to Ian Beaton, a partner in KPMG SA, KPMG has developed a relationship with Oracle SA over the past three years, and has been working with Oracle`s solutions such as Appsnet and e-business network.
"This local partnership provides us with updated industry information, and enables us to work better as an Oracle partner."
He says that KPMG SA and Oracle SA have already collaborated on marketing promotions and KPMG is a key partner in Oracle`s local CRM Roadshow.
"We have had numerous successes with the implementation of Oracle applications," he says. "We have been able to assist our clients in implementing Oracle`s solutions, all of which are 100% reference-able. Our expertise combined with Oracle`s technology has enabled us to establish ourselves as a successful business," Beaton says.
The IDC`s white paper, `A Closer Look at the Oracle Partner Programme`, states that by joining the Programme, companies demonstrate to customers their commitment to delivering innovative Oracle-based solutions and services. "This Programme supports companies in their go-to-market efforts as well as the promotion and expansion of their businesses worldwide," Beaton adds.
The IDC`s survey results provide a strong endorsement from partners regarding Oracle`s programme and direction. "Partners believe that changes underway at Oracle address many key issues important to their businesses and that the programme provides them with the assistance they require to be successful. Specific, top-line results from the survey indicate:
There is a strong alignment between programme elements that partners consider important and the primary areas of focus for the Oracle Partner Programme. For example, `global coverage` - a key benefit of the new Oracle Partner Programme - is given a critical `must have` rating by 45% of partners.
Respondents expect participation in the Oracle Partner Programme to provide a number of important benefits, many of which may positively impact their bottom line.
When asked to compare the Oracle Partner Programme with earlier programmes, many partners concur that the benefits and services offered are more bountiful and more clearly defined.
Enthusiasm for the programme is relatively high, with more than half of partners expecting to work toward qualifying for the next programme level.
"Oracle`s decision to consolidate its partner programmes will ultimately help partners better understand how they can work with Oracle to develop closer business relationships around the world," the IDC report says.
"Rather than negotiating with Oracle for resources, there now exists a clear roadmap that partners can use to understand the resources and requirements for each level of the partnership structure.
"By clarifying expectations and resources, Oracle is providing partners with a long-term understanding of how they can grow their businesses together - an important step for partners that rely on Oracle for market opportunities and support," the IDC adds.
