Kronos Incorporated has announced the release of Workforce Central 4.0, a Web-based suite of frontline labour management applications designed to manage labour in real-time on the front line.
Workforce Central 4.0 features a fully interactive Web-based client that eliminates the cost of desktop management and enables the application to be easily accessed from anywhere in the enterprise.
"When we laid out the blueprint for Workforce Central 4.0 fourteen months ago, we challenged our organisation to take a fresh look at how frontline labour management solutions are used throughout the enterprise. Having met all of our internal development milestones, the outcome is a brilliant Web-based suite of user-configurable applications designed to fit into an organisation`s existing infrastructure," said Mark S Ain, Kronos chairman and chief executive officer.
"We have risen to the challenge, and Workforce Central 4.0 represents the most exhilarating product initiative in Kronos` history. This release - coupled with the $50 million investment we`ve made in Workforce Central over the last several years - will undoubtedly raise the bar for the entire labour management industry."
Workforce Central 4.0`s power and intuitiveness resides in three key areas: It was designed for users, with users, to optimise their labour management processes; it is the most powerful suite of configurable applications for managing labour on the front line; and it seamlessly fits into existing computing environments.
Workforce Central 4.0 includes more than 2 400 features, hundreds of which were completely redesigned to take advantage of the Web computing environment. Kronos worked hand-in-hand with an extensive array of customers to analyse how Kronos applications are used by organisations across industries.
"We`ve always gathered customer feedback and factored it into our development process," said Steve Flieder, Kronos vice president of product marketing. With the emergence of the Web, Kronos saw a unique opportunity to work with its extensive customer base to reinvent the labour management methodology that it had conceived years ago, therefore many Kronos customer advisory board members beta tested the product.
According to Carl Blake, a director of CS Systems Integration, a division of JSE-listed CS Holdings: "Providing the features and user interface people want is only part of being successful in the business of frontline labour management. Basically, when dealing with frontline labour management you are dealing with an employee`s pay and concomitant conditions of employment - often with a wide range of personal, environmental and business factors also playing a role - and it is imperative to get the pay rules right. In addition, the software for labour management needs to be user-friendly and able to accommodate businesses` integration into e-business systems.
"We`ve seen many companies battle with this problem and get blown away by its complexity," continues Blake, "but this new product release from Kronos is a giant step forward towards providing an effective business solution for a very expensive resource.
"As the sole distributor of Kronos frontline labour management products in sub-Saharan Africa, CS Holdings is now offering Workforce Central 4.0 to South African businesses."
