Kulula strengthens online reach with Clicks2Customers

Kulula, the country's innovative airline offering complete travel packages online, has contracted paid-for-search expert, Clicks2Customers, to increase bookings for its flight, car, hotel and holiday package offerings by driving more search-engine traffic to its Web site.

Kulula is currently South Africa's biggest online retailer, with over R1.3 billion in revenue generated via its Web site annually.

The airline's Web site also services seven million visitors per annum and the objective of the campaign is to make even more people aware of the unique Kulula value offering.

Carl Scholtz, Kulula's executive manager of IT, said: "Kulula turned to Clicks2Customers because of its reputation and expertise in online marketing and managing pay-per-click campaigns, especially in the travel and tourism sectors."

Clicks2Customers is well-known for handling campaigns of up to one million keywords for large international enterprises.

Jonathan Gluckman, Click2Customers' head of new business development, added: "This partnership creates a platform for two industry leaders to join forces and we're looking forward to a successful relationship with Kulula."

The deal with Kulula comes soon after Clicks2Customers signed similar deals with SA Tourism and ProteaHotels.com.

Launched in August 2001, Kulula is owned by Comair Limited, operating more than 300 flights a week with 12 routes, including three regional destinations.
