Kyocera launches new-age multifunctional systems

Johannesburg, 24 Feb 2009

Kyocera, the manufacturer of resource-saving print and copy solutions, is ushering in a new era in multifunctional monochrome and colour devices. In future, all A3 MFPs, with their new, sleek, black and silver design, will be marketed under the TASKalfa brand name.

“The brand name TASKalfa combines two concepts,” says Jody Harrington, Senior Manager: Commercial Operations at Kyocera Mita South Africa. “TASK stands for the tasks that the multifunctional systems perform, while Alfa stands for the high priority with which they are carried out. This, therefore, means the user's tasks are performed with the highest priority - criteria that ensure economic success more than ever today.”

In addition to their modern, ergonomic design and new name - highlights of the new TASKalfa colour range, launched this month, incorporate numerous technical innovations that will set the standard for reliability, economy and quality. The use of Java and Web service technologies enable TASKalfa MFP users to individually adapt their unit to suit their respective environments, while the improved security features, comprehensive device and accounts management tools and self explanatory network connected touch panel, ensure optimal usage.

“Along with the name, the devices' new design will catch the user's eye. For Kyocera, TASKalfa stands for comprehensive technical innovations and we have worked hard to ensure that all units meet this standard in every aspect, from their technological advancements to their ergonomic design for maximum comfort and usability,“ adds Harrington.

A key performance feature of the new TASKalfa colour range is their outstanding colour quality in printing, copying and scanning, something which is synonymous with Kyocera. The newly developed toner and the enlarged colour area ensure high quality reproduction, while reducing consumption and energy costs with its lower fixing temperature.

Long-life components and improved paper paths along with intelligent calibration also guarantee optimal reliability and efficiency, as do the duplex unit and a hard disk of up to 160GB. Depending on the model, the TASKalfa range reaches speeds of between 25 and 50 pages per minute in monochrome and 25 to 40ppm in colour.

The TASKalfa range launched in February 2009, with the rollout of the TASKalfa 250ci, TASKalfa 300ci, TASKalfa 400ci and TASKalfa 500ci, which will replace the existing KM-C2525E, KM-C3232E and KM-C4035E units.
