Kyocera Mita has launched the KM-4030, a comprehensive digital multifunctional copying system with optional network print, scan and fax capabilities.
"Designed for workgroups and large departments, the KM-4030 delivers 600dpi image quality at 40 copies per minute and offers a full complement of finishing options," says Wayne Holborn, manager, sales and marketing, Kyocera Mita South Africa.
The new KM-4030 joins the KM-2530 and KM-3530 devices, offering yet another solution for users who need simple, efficient and flexible document management.
The KM-4030`s modular design means that the device can be tailored to suit users` specific needs and requirements. It shares enhancements and consumables with the KM-2530 and KM-3530, which means the user can benefit from cost-effective production and the possibility of interchanging options and consumables with other Kyocera Mita devices.
"The long-life components incorporated into the design result in the longest drum life, and the highest toner yield in its class," Holborn adds. "This long-life technology means the KM-4030 has a maintenance cycle of 500 000 pages, which is also the longest in its class."
With a `first copy out` time of less than 3.9 seconds, the KM-4030 can scan, print and copy at 40 pages per minute with a resolution of 600dpi for copying and 1 200dpi for printing.
The unit comes standard with two front loading 500-sheet universal paper cassettes and a 200-sheet capacity multi-purpose tray that allows for printing or copying onto letterhead, transparencies or mailing labels. Users can further boost the paper capacity with either a 2 x 500 sheet paper feeder or one 3 000 sheet paper feeder, expanding the total paper input capacity to 4 200 sheets. An Automatic Duplex Unit, a job separator and a cabinet are also available.
The KM-4030 can be enhanced with either a 3 000-sheet high capacity finisher with stapling and standard two and four hole punch, a 1 000-sheet booklet finisher with sorting, stapling, folding and optional two or four hole punch, or a 500-sheet internal finisher. There is also a seven-bin mailbox available for the high capacity finisher.
It extends the benefits of document and network scanning at full speed to all users from the convenience of their desktop. Standard with Print/Scan System N, the network scanning ability turns paper-based originals into electronic data that can be e-mailed or placed into a PC folder directly from the control panel.
"A document can even be distributed to several destination folders simultaneously by using the Group Transmission feature, which greatly simplifies the flow of information. The wide touch screen interface makes scanning as easy as making a copy," says Holborn.
The KM-4030 can be enhanced with the new KM-Network FAX which, enables the transmission and reception of fax documents direct from the user`s PC. "The KM-Network FAX improves the efficiency of communication via facsimile by enabling more convenient user operation," says Holborn. "Direct fax transmission and reception means that documents do not need to be printed and can be sent or received directly to/from the PC by e-mail.
Direct fax transmissions ensure a higher image quality at both ends. The user`s time is also saved as there is no need to walk from one machine to another; a delivery status or fax reception notification is sent to the PC by e-mail and the document can be immediately filed on the PC in either PDF or TIFF format.
Delayed Tx` enables the user to set the fax to be transmitted at a specified time and other functions allow simultaneous transmission and print, with the option to add a cover page to the faxed document and save the transmitted original.
