Kyocera Mita launches new series of advanced multifunctionals

Johannesburg, 10 Feb 2004

Kyocera Mita South Africa (KMSA) has launched a new generation of digital monochrome multifunctional systems with automatic duplex functionality as standard. The series, which is modular in design, combines network printing and scanning, copying and faxing with unmatched reliability, superior image quality and affordable pricing.

Ideal for fast-paced workgroups, the KM-3035, KM-4035 and KM-5035 feature Kyocera Mita`s cartridge-free concept and long-life components to minimise the impact on the environment and achieve the lowest cost per page in their respective classes. As a result, service costs and maintenance downtime are also kept at an absolute minimum.

The KM-3035 is a 30-page-per-minute (ppm) device that features a drum life of up to 400 000 impressions. The KM-4035 is a 40ppm unit with a drum that lasts for up to 500 000 impressions. Lastly, the 50ppm KM-5035 provides users with a drum that yields 500 000 impressions.

Augustina Jardim, product manager, Kyocera Mita South Africa, says: "All three units feature a powerful print controller, fast first copy times, duplex printing as standard and a 1 200-sheet paper supply which can be expanded to 4 200 sheets."

An optional 20GB copier hard disk enables the use of a variety of innovative functions which reduce copying errors and increase business efficiency. Users can for example, reserve up to nine printing/copying jobs or save frequently used documents on the hard disk and print them when required.

Ease of use

The KM-3035, KM-4035 and KM-5035 have a clear user interface comprising a wide touch-screen that make it easy for users to copy, print, scan and fax. The Kyocera Mita KX driver also greatly enhances the devices` ease of use by providing clear and unambiguous access to the various printing functions from the user`s PC.

Optional printing

The printer option features a PowerPC 500MHz processor with a high standard memory of 64MB (upgradeable to 576MB). The optional print hard disk drive (HDD) provides several capabilities, including document printing and e-MPS functions, private print, job storage, quick copy, proof and hold, and virtual mailboxes.

The system comes standard with an Ethernet network interface card and a variety of optional network cards, including the wireless LAN Interface card.

Optional scanning

The network scanning capability offers scan-to-file, scan-to-e-mail and is network TWAIN compliant, which provides users with 50 originals per minute scanning (PDF or TIFF, up to 600dpi, simplex or duplex) on all three devices.
