Kyocera Mita`sKM-C830 and KM-C830D are the first cartridge-free, low operating cost, colour multifunctional devices for every office and have been developed following the merger of Kyocera and Mita.
Not only do the new KM-C830 and KM-C830D bring high-quality colour into office workgroups and departmental environments, but they do so using cartridge-free technology - offering the lowest possible total cost of ownership. In the past, it was common to use designated devices for copy jobs (colour or black/white); office users can now use a single device to reproduce documents in black and white and colour using the same machine.
The KM-C830 and KM-C830D lead the industry with their combination of low operating costs and very high functionality. The very hardwearing amorphous silicon drum, a product unique to Kyocera Mita, is guaranteed to last for up to 400 000 images.
Features
The KM-C830 and KM-C830D use a single scan for full-colour originals improving reliability, where conventional colour copiers scan colour originals four times. Advanced print technology offers a range of other benefits including superb copy/print quality thanks to Kyocera Mita`s multi-bit technology, flexible `Gloss Mode`, and the one-scan/many copies function.
The first copy speed is just 11 seconds for black and white, and 24 seconds for full colour, and the KM-C830/KM-C830D also offer advanced electronic sorting and rotate sorting.
The new KM-C830 and KM-C830D copy at speeds of 30 copies per minute (cpm) and 15cpm in A4/A3 for black and white; 8cpm full colour, in A4; and 4cpm in A3 format. Resolution is a very high standard 600 x 600dpi with 256 greyscales in the scan/copy mode and 600 dpi using 4bit/dot multibit technology in print mode and can be further enhanced to 2 400dpi quality with KIR2 resolution enhancement.
The duty cycles per month are 100 000 pages per month in black and white or 25 000 pages per month for full colour.
Paper handling
As standard the KM-C830 offers a capacity of 1 150 pages that can be enhanced to 1 650 pages by adding an additional paper feeder (PF-35: 2 x 250 sheets). It handles media from 64 - 90 g/m2 from A6R to A3. The multi-purpose-tray for 150 sheets can feed media from 64 to 220 g/m2. Users who do not need large capacities of paper can also install a cabinet beneath the standard machine for convenient storing of paper or other office supplies.
A duplex-ready version, the KM-C830D offers 650 sheets capacity as standard, which can be enhanced to 1 150 sheets.
The document finisher DF-35 option offers a capacity of 3 000 pages. It can staple up to 50 pages b/w and up to 30 pages colour, and offers various modes for hole-punching.
Copy functions
The KM-C830 comes with a standard memory of 128MB that can be enhanced up to 256MB and 10GB Hard disk by installing the optional memory kit MB-7 (MB-7 is standard for KM-C830D).
The KM-C830 and KM-C830D have several automatic features, including: Auto Colour Selection, Auto Draw Switching, Auto Paper Selection, Auto Magnification Selection and Auto Exposure Selection. It is easy to adjust the image with one touch for Colour Balance, Hue Sharpness, Low or High Gloss Mode and Colour Calibration. There are also a number of publishing features on the KM-C830 and KM-C830D including: Covers, Inserts, Page Numbering, Margin Shift, Magazine Binding, Signature Booklet Making, Electronic and Rotate Sort, Rotate Copy, Delivery Copy, Split Copies, Presentation Mode, Copy Standardisation, Interrupt Copy, 500 Account Codes and a two-sided copy mode (KM-C830D only).
Using the KM-NET VIEWER administration tool the KM-C830/KM-C830D can be monitored and administered via the network from a central source.
Scan function (optional)
Scan functionality of the KM-C830 and KM-C830D covers Scan-to-PC, scan-to-email and network TWAIN. The scan speed is 30 black and white originals per minute in 600dpi mode. The maximum scan size is up to A3 in resolutions of 600, 400, 300 and 200dpi (256 greyscales).
The supported image formats include TIFF, PDF and JPEG using the compression method of G4. The bundled software that comes with the optional scan function is Scanner File Utility, Address Book, Address Editor, TWAIN Source, PaperPort Deluxe, Quick set-up and an AdminManager.
Print function (optional)
With the installation of the printing system (P) the KM-C830 and KM-C830D can be enhanced to work as a fully networked printer. It comes with a standard memory of 64MB that can be enhanced to 256MB using two additional DIMM slots. The KM-C830 and KM-C830D, with the printing system, support several printer languages and emulations, such as PCL5c, KPDL3 (PostScript 3 compatible) and KCGL (HPGL 7550) plotter emulation. It also offers PRESCRIBE IIc Kyocera Mita`s own page design and control language.
The printing system is powered by a PowerPC 750 (400MHz). It supports 80 outline fonts (PCL), 1 Bitmap font, 136 outline fonts (KPDL3), 45 types of one-dimensional barcodes and the two dimensional barcode PDF-417.
Other print functions are provided by eMPS for quick copy, proof and hold, private print, job storage and job management functionality in conjunction with the hard disk.
