The Kyocera Mita Marathon Machine Competition has got off to a sprint start, with entries received from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The competition, which seeks to find the oldest working Kyocera Mita device in EMEA, has had submissions from customers in countries including Bahrain, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, UK and Ukraine.
New technologies, and in particular printers and copiers, are regularly launched onto the market. However, many of the devices entered into the competition are still working after decades of use due to the reliability of Kyocera Mita devices.
One of the highlights of the entries received to date is the first Kyocera printer. The F-1010, manufactured in 1986, is an A4 printer with a print speed of 10 pages-per-minute (ppm) and a weight of 29kgs. This was regarded as relatively light at the time.
There is still a chance to beat the submissions already received to the finishing line, as the competition has been extended to run until the end of December 2007.
Customers can enter online at www.kyoceramita.eu. The customer with the oldest device will win a Japanese-themed party for 50 guests, featuring traditional food, drinks and entertainment. Plus, the winner will get a brand new Kyocera Mita device. The second, third, fourth and fifth placed winners will receive a new ECOSYS A4 colour printer. In South Africa, further prizes will be awarded, consisting of a KM-2560 Multi Functional Product (MFP) to the person who owns the oldest copier and an FS-C5015N printer to the person with the oldest printer currently running in South Africa.
A range of different products have been entered into the competition, varying in shape, size and colour.
