Labat expands SSA Global channel

Labat Software Solutions has appointed ROI Technologies as a business partner for its SSA Global ERP software, extending its existing contract and delivering on SSA Global`s promise of an aggressive channel expansion strategy.

Privately held ROI Technologies is focused on the food, pharmaceutical, FMCG and manufacturing sectors, providing a range of technology services from strategic to operational support.

"One of our main objectives in terms of the agreement with Labat is to re-establish relationships with the existing client base," says Kathy Hart, director at ROI Technologies. "We hope to improve the level of satisfaction through quality support and understanding of our customers` priorities. From this strong base we will expand into new markets, as well as bring the extended SSA offering to our existing customers."

ROI Technologies` involvement with Labat Software Solutions began a number of years ago with the launching of Labat`s home-grown BPCS HiVolume, a high-speed order entry module for SSA`s ERP software.

ROI Technologies will promote the full range of SSA Global`s offering through sub-Saharan distributor, Labat Software Solutions. Their professional services team comprises both application and technical skills, and include services spanning IT strategy, enterprise application system - implementation, training and support, as well as program development and desktop infrastructure support.

SSA Global has taken a new approach to selecting channel partners such as Labat Software Solutions.

In the past the business would appoint channel partners in niche focus areas, which proved problematic to manage. It now leaves that choice to more broadly supporting local distributors.

"Historically, our channel strategy depended on the particular business and the product being sold. Managing many separate channel partners to address niche areas has proved difficult. The only way to set up our channel here is to find the right company to create a master distribution operation, with the partner finding resellers to address the vertical industries," says Jairo Rojas, GM Channels EMEA at SSA Global.

Since its return to the world market, SSA Global has been aggressively expanding its business and product suite.

The business has seen a series of acquisitions and partnerships supporting expansion of the product and development of new markets.
