LAN Design, a member of the MB Technologies group, has announced that WRQ has released J42 for Reflection EnterView, an extension of its Web-to-host solution set designed to make it even easier for organizations evolving to e-business to extend access of legacy applications via intranets and extranets.
This solution integrates J42 - a tool that enables instant replacement of the character-based "green screen" interface of IBM mainframe and AS/400 applications with a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) - with the rock-solid, browser-based terminal emulation and maximum-level Web security built into WRQ Reflection EnterView. J42 for Reflection EnterView was developed through an exclusive license agreement with J&B Computing Services, providers of J42.
"J42 for Reflection EnterView is a key deliverable in WRQ`s mission to help its customers move to e-business and realize a better return on their substantial investment in legacy systems," says Neill Rosenthal, business manager for WRQ at LAN Design. "This solution enables customers to give their employees, remote users and critical business partners secure, user-friendly access to the data they need to do their jobs."
J42 for Reflection EnterView - How it works
J42 for Reflection EnterView transforms IBM mainframe or AS/400 host applications with thousands of screens into a GUI, eliminating the need to customize the interface screen-by-screen. By providing automated, high-performance GUI mapping of the host screen, J42 eliminates the complicated, time-consuming task of application re-engineering. Using unique and intelligent screen-transformation technology, it dynamically analyses the description of the host screen in the data stream, then transforms it into GUI form "on the fly."
Advantages for VARs, SIs and Developers
While J42 requires no Java programming expertise to implement, it also provides integrated customisation features that give value added resellers (VARs), system integrators, as well as corporate developers a head-start advantage in projects involving highly-specialized user interface design. J42 is 100% pure Java-based, and can be used with popular Java development tools such as SymantecVisual Caf'e or Microsoft Visual J++.
