Networking software and hardware communication supplier, LAN Design, a subsidiary of MB Technologies, has secured full distribution rights to Extreme Networks` range of products - stackable Summit switches, modular Alpine Ethernet service provisioning switches, and modular BlackDiamond core switches.
LAN Design`s product portfolio includes network operating systems, management tools, e-commerce solutions, LAN products, mobile connectivity products and high-end wide-area networking connectivity products. "Because LAN Design focuses on the networking and communications industry, the company has the necessary expertise to successfully market our products," says Tiho Strbac, Extreme Networks country manager for South Africa. "As a successful 3Com partner (the previous vendors of these products), LAN Design will regain the capability to offer any enterprise high-end LAN core as part of a total solution."
The Extreme solution - stackable Summit switches, modular Alpine Ethernet service provisioning switches, modular BlackDiamond core switches and the ExtremeWare software suite - shares the same hardware, software and management architecture for end-to-end network-wide simplicity.

"As an Extreme Networks distributor, we can not only continue to offer a comprehensive solution to existing customers, but also address new emerging markets of service providers and MANs (metropolitan area networks)."
