Microsoft distributor, LAN Design, a subsidiary of MB Technologies, is to distribute Windows Millennium (Me), the newest version of Windows for the home PC user scheduled to hit the streets on 14 September. The product offers the best in digital media tools, improvements in overall user experience, easier home networking, and a rich set of Internet features.
"As the easiest operating system for home users to install and manage, Windows Me takes the home PC user to new heights in features and functionality," says Heidi Mehring, Microsoft product manager at LAN Design. "New wizards, tours and help and support resources abound to help set up the computer and keep it running smoothly. Added to this is System Restore, which can roll the system back to its previous state if necessary."
Windows Me also promises awesome audio and graphic support for games, videos and music, "all of which," continues Mehring, "effectively makes the PC a multimedia entertainment centre. Additionally, video-production enthusiasts can import and edit video from both digital and analog camcorders, and splice scenes, thereby adding their own personal touch to make those magic moments all the more memorable. Other exciting new features will also enable users to customise listening experience by choosing visualisations that move in time with the music."
With Windows Me, creating a home network and connecting new devices is now easier than ever before. "You can share printers, music, an Internet connection, and digital pictures throughout your home," says Mehring.
Windows Me also enriches your Internet experience by providing the most powerful and reliable way to browse your favourite Web sites, send e-mail and instant messages, and play online games.
"I`ll definitely be taking Windows Me home with me," Mehring concludes.
