LAN Design, an MB Technologies company, has been awarded exclusive distribution rights for Smartcode Software`s range of 'handware` applications for Palm OS-based connected organisers.
The range from Smartcode delivers an integrated solution that consists of several software applications: HandFAX, HandPhone, HandWEB and HandMAIL. Smartcode has also integrated its handware range with TDK`s GlobalPulse application in order to connect GSM telephones to Palm OS-based handhelds.
With the latest release, GSM telephone users are able to send faxes, surf the Net and send and receive e-mail, using a single serial connection cable. GlobalPulse 1.0 supports selected phones from Nokia and Ericsson, and includes HandPhone software for quick access to phonebook and SMS features.
HandMAIL 2.0 allows PDA users to compose messages off-line and send and receive mail once connected to an ISP. The application is compatible with the Palm Professional, III, IIIx or Palm V organiser. Users do not have to synchronise with a desktop computer.
