LANDesk plugs BPM software into ITIL suite
LANDesk Software has bolstered its server, systems, and security management software portfolio with the acquisition of almost all the assets of NewRoad Software, a privately held vendor of workflow automation programs.
Jacksonville, Florida-based NewRoad specialises in development of .NET-based applications for ITIL-compliant service desk management, reports Computer Business Review Online.
No financial details were released, but the companies confirmed the acquired Autobahn change management software would be integrated with the LANDesk Management Suite to automate many of the critical workflow and business processes associated with enterprise systems and security management routines.
LANDesk sees its key market opportunity coming from the requirement of companies for efficient and effective management of IT resources, particularly in regard to keeping applications and operating system software up-to-date.
Intalio in deal with Celequest
Intalio has struck a partnership with Celequest to embed event-based business analytics, metrics and monitoring capabilities into its flagship open source business process management system (BPMS).
According to Computer Business Review Online, Intalio`s open source process modelling and execution platform will now include Celequest`s pre-packaged process management dashboards, which industry pundits classify as business activity monitoring (BAM).
The dashboards, with surface performance metrics on various process dimensions like cycle times, bottlenecks, and work queues, can be automatically generated when Intalio`s business process engine executes. The software will be included in the Community Edition of Intalio BPMS. Intalio says customers can also upgrade to the Enterprise Edition if they so wish.
