BrainShare, Novell`s premier annual event, is once again being at Helderfontein from 12 to 14 October. Delegates, mostly technology and networking professionals from throughout Africa, will be exposed to the latest networking technologies and a wide range of programs and products which will take businesses into the 21st century.
According to Novell managing director, the conference is designed for IT professionals who are serious about networking. Furthermore, Novell will demonstrate Novell Single Sign-on, a new directory-based software solution that simplifies the end-user computing experience by eliminating the need for users to remember and input multiple passwords.
"Network administrators at large companies have long yearned for a single sign-on solution, but security experts have been leery of the danger of consolidating a user`s passwords in one place. That is one of the elements that make this solution unique. Unlike competing products, Novell Single Sign-on ensures a high level of security for password management. Each user`s security profile, which includes log-in credentials and access rights information, is centrally located in NDS," says Novell SE manager James Stewart.
In addition to its many other new products, Novell will also be exhibiting caching appliances based on the Novell Internet Caching System (ICS). This new breed of appliance uses Novell caching software to dramatically improve the speed and efficiency of delivering Web content to employees, business partners and customers on corporate intranets and across the global Internet.
"The Novell Internet Caching System is a scalable, plug-n-accelerate appliance architecture available for license by OEMs. With its new cache object file system, Novell Internet Caching System enables content publishers, ISPs and enterprises to implement high-performance, content-rich Web storefronts to attract new customers, increase buyer satisfaction and drive new revenue opportunities," adds Stewart.
Novell will be exhibiting all its latest products at Brainshare `99 including Novell Directory Services 8, NetWare 5, BorderManager 3.5, GroupWise 5.5, ManagWise 2.6, ZENworks 2, Netware for Small Business Suite 5 and much more. Delegates will be able to test drive these products on the stand and all questions will be answered by an experienced Novell sales and channel team.
Finally, Novell Professional Services will also be represented at Brainshare `99. The recently announced Novell Professional Services will be offering consulting, pro-active analysis team services and education services to the local market in future.
