GBI, the South African distributor of the Hyperion Solutions product range, has announced the immediate availability of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) 3.4, the latest release of the HFM full Web-based global collection, statutory consolidation, reporting and analysis solution.
This newest release of HFM, an integral part of the Hyperion Business Performance Management Suite, features improved ease-of-use for end-users and provides administrators with more powerful tools to manage the system.
In that way, Hyperion Financial Management includes new audit trail functionality that will help customers to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley rules and other regulations all over the world.
Says Bruno Leblanc, EMEA product marketing manager at Hyperion Solutions: "HFM 3.4 is designed to improve the quality of a company`s statutory and reporting information, including compliance with International Accounting Standards (IAS) 2005, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and ultimately governance framework in most enterprises. The product also includes a range of powerful features that will help customers to reduce the time and effort spent preparing financial and management information."
HFM 3.4 improves on previous versions of the product by providing end-users with an enhanced Web interface: Users have the choice between the default homepage offered in earlier versions of HFM or a new homepage that offers easier navigation and new features. Among the significant improvements, HFM 3.4 introduces user-defined workspaces, the ability for users to define favourites and templates, reporting enhancements, and easy graphical form creation and editing.
Users can define templates to apply process management tasks such as promote, submit and approve and in this way, offering to CEOs, CFOs, and their management team, the ability to see for themselves that all submissions have been reviewed and approved from the lowest level throughout the management hierarchy prior to signing off the consolidated results. Users can also group frequently used or favourite tasks, Web data entry forms, Web grids and system reports in one location on their home pages.
HFM 3.4 also introduces functionality that aims to make administration of the application easier. Administrators can view and log off users of an application or server from the Web interface. An HFM administrator can use the new Manage Servers and Apps module to perform maintenance activities that require logging off and disabling access for all users.
Administrators are able to resolve errors faster and more efficiently thanks to an improved error-logging task and data audit trail that makes troubleshooting easier. Because auditors can easily see which changes have been made to a particular value dimension, data cell or entity, regulatory compliance requirements are also easier to meet.
