SCS Distribution, exclusive distributor for Africa of Milestone Systems, has announced the release of XProtect Professional version 4.6, featuring the full Remote Client for remotely managing and viewing live or recorded images from 16 video channels simultaneously.
XProtect Professional is an advanced, full-feature application designed for managing IP video surveillance installations with 1-36 cameras. The newest version 4.6 offers many additional features, and is delivered to customers with the full channel capability of the popular Remote Client for an unlimited number of users. XProtect Professional 4.6 also supports the option to add XProtect PDA Client for mobile access to the surveillance system.
"XProtect Professional version 4.6 offers mid-size security implementations a very flexible and comprehensive set of tools for managing IP video surveillance with a future-proof open platform," states Roy Alves, Managing Director of SCS Distribution.
"All the XProtect solutions are independent which means freedom of choice in the network hardware used: currently over 140 models of cameras from more than 25 manufacturers are supported."
XProtect Remote Client can run from the system server or from a user`s local computer. It provides remote viewing of live or recorded images, including imported HTML maps for good premise overviews. Both MPEG4 and MJPEG can be viewed onscreen at the same time. Remote PTZ control includes point-and-click, zoom to marked rectangle, and IPIX quad views.
Server-based groups and views mean users can access their pre-defined views even when not at their own workstation. Views can be private for individual user needs or shared for all users to see. Audit logs of user actions and log files can be verified for integrity. The Viewer application can now be exported along with the database images for easier viewing when sharing evidence with others, and printed reports can include useful free text comments.
