Two of the latest motherboards from manufacturer DFI are touted to dramatically reduce the build cost for white-box PCs. Featuring the latest Intel chipsets, the DFI-ND30-EL and DFI-NB76-EC motherboards are equipped with Intel`s Extreme Graphics chipset - offering an equivalent of 48MB of graphics power.
"Customers will save several hundred rands on the cost of a graphics card with this new feature," says Alex Morse, desktops product manager at local DFI distributor, Axiz. "This cost-saving is significant in the overall price of the PC."
The ND30-EL features the Intel 845GL chipset, and can accommodate Intel`s Pentium 4 and Celeron 400Mhz FSB processors. Packaged in a neat micro-ATX form factor, the board also offers integrated audio and LAN capabilities, further reducing the overall component cost of the PC.
For users requiring more power, the NB76-EC motherboard is equipped with the Intel 845G chipset, and while supporting the latest Intel Pentium 4 533 FSB processors, is also back-wards compatible to accommodate current Intel Pentium 4 400MHz FSB processors. The board also features integrated audio.
"Another advanced feature of these boards is that they support USB2.0, which provides for the fastest connections between PC and peripherals such as mice, keyboards, scanners, and digital cameras," says Morse.
These boards are currently in stock and available immediately from Axiz.
DFI offers a complete line of advanced motherboards to meet the expanding needs of the personal computer market, and co-develops with Intel and third-party developers for the latest technology on chipsets and motherboards. DFI is considered to be one of the top ten-motherboard companies in the world.
