Dell today announced the Latitude D520, its newest notebook designed to maximise the productivity and technology budgets of small businesses and educational establishments in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Priced from R5 900 excluding VAT and delivery, and sporting the power of dual-core processors, a new industrial design, a durable magnesium alloy frame and a starting weight of 2.38kg, the Latitude D520 delivers stylish mobility with reliability, flexibility and performance. Customers can configure the new system with their choice of Intel Core Duo or Celeron M processors, 14.1-inch or 15-inch displays and WiFi networking capabilities.
Small business users will appreciate the dual-battery configuration enabling all-day computing without the need for a recharge, and an integrated microphone for VOIP applications. Educational institutions developing hi-tech, interactive learning centres based on computers and related technology, will value the integrated IEEE 1394 port and S-video ports. The Latitude D520 also delivers investment protection since it is designed to support the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system and the emerging 802.11n WiFi standard.
Dell`s RoadReady quality and reliability testing helps ensure the Latitude D520 is adaptable and resilient - ready to operate regardless of the environment.
The D520 is compatible with Latitude notebook accessories shipped since 2003, including batteries, docking stations, optical drives and power adapters.
Adhering to Dell`s Design for the Environment programme, the new system meets the requirements of the European Union`s Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.
Dell offers a single point of accountability for deployment services to support its latest portfolio of Latitude products. These can help save time and effort and allow customers to focus resources on other projects. More information about the Latitude D520 and related products can be found at www.dell.co.za
