Lawson Software, the enterprise business application vendor represented in SA by Solit iNovations, has entered into a partnership with integration specialist WebMethods to deliver a new utility which allows all of Lawson's products to be integrated into all internal and external enterprise applications.
The partnership will see South African users of Lawson software close the gap between their Lawson applications, any other internal enterprise applications and their external suppliers, even if they are running different systems, says Brenda du Plessis, marketing manager at Solit iNovations.
"By integrating WebMethods' platform into these applications, Lawson will enable customers to connect their applications internally with other enterprise systems, and externally with trading partners and suppliers over the Internet.
"Combining Lawson and WebMethods functionality has also enabled data delivery over the Web between different applications and enterprises," Du Plessis says. In terms of the partnership agreement, Virginia-based WebMethods will see its integration platform embedded into Lawson's full suite of products.
Lawson provides a range of applications including e-procurement, targeted at specific vertical services markets, including professional services, healthcare, financial, retail services and the public sector.
The partnership will enable WebMethods to extend its reach in the services sectors, and builds on the company's strong list of partners including Hewlett-Packard, SAP, Siebel Systems and Microsoft.
