LayerOne, the Africa distributor for Intellisync and Internet Solutions subsidiary, recently rated the top devices in the South African market that are compatible with its award-winning wireless push e-mail software.
The company, which has over 3 500 mobile e-mail users in South Africa, rated the devices not only in their capability to send e-mail, calendaring info, etc, but on the devices` ability to facilitate other technologies that LayerOne provides such as mobile application synchronisation.
"The rating is quite straightforward and measures what we feel have become the most important components when deciding which e-mail device to purchase. The information has been gathered from our own experience, but more importantly from the feedback that we have received from clients over the last two years and more recently with newer devices. In the last two years we have realised that purchasing a mobile device is a very personal choice which is important to remember when you make recommendations, as they need to be based purely on capability, and relate strictly to the topic at hand which is in this case is a powerful e-mail tool," comments Stuart Hardy, MD of LayerOne.
LayerOne believes this table will help companies identify some of the key elements they need to address when choosing an e-mail device. Hardy comments that most service providers in SA don`t have a good enough understanding of these devices to be able to give clients an adequate idea of how they will work with Intellisync or any mobile synchronisation solution, except companies like Nashua Mobile that have been providing these services to the South African market for over a year. As a result LayerOne is spending more time informing clients of the best devices for their technologies.
