Leading analyst to explore business potential of Web 2.0 with Gauteng's entrepreneurial elite

Johannesburg, 28 Aug 2007

Blue IQ Investment Holding's entrepreneurial and commercial innovation initiative, Blue Catalyst, has issued a reminder to all interested parties to register for the limited space left at its 'How to make business sense of Web 2.0' presentation on 4 September.

Taking place at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria, the event will start at 17h01 and refreshments will be served both before and afterwards. RSVP is required.

Guests attending the event will be exposed to inspirational examples of the kind of innovation and commercial advantage that can be achieved in the mobile, collaborative Web 2.0 environment by leading ICT analyst and author Arthur Goldstuck.

"This presentation is a must for everyone interested in harnessing technology for innovation or exploring the huge business benefits of Web 2.0," confirms Blue Catalyst Chief Operating Officer Brian Carl Brown, "and we are delighted to have someone of Arthur's calibre sharing his expertise with us."

As well as discussing the technological capabilities and latent potential of this new transactional environment, Goldstuck is keen to explore how businesses can profit from the emerging possibilities. "It's an exciting, inspirational subject that usually sparks plenty of ideas and debate," he enthuses, "and, having just finished writing 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to Going Mobile', I will be sharing lots of fascinating research with the audience."

Smart ideas

A network of mentors, advisers and financiers who engage with innovative entrepreneurs and help them take their smart ideas and innovations to market, Blue Catalyst frequently holds events like this one.

"While we are a networked community that uses the Blue Catalyst portal as its virtual home and primary means of communication, we are also aware of how important it is to regularly get together face to face," explains Brown.

The events are held at no charge, but Brown is quick to point out that they are also extremely popular and get booked up very quickly. "These occasions are not restricted to Blue Catalyst members, but their popularity means that we have to make them invitation only, and only members receive the invitation," he explains. "So I would urge anyone interested in attending to visit the initiative's portal at www.bluecatalyst.co.za and register as soon as possible. There's no fee and the process takes no time at all."
