Leading IT giant arivia.kom concludes R2m deal with Dendustri

Johannesburg, 05 Nov 2001

Leading IT giant, arivia.kom has concluded a three year-contract worth R2.1 million, for the supply and maintenance of information technology infrastructure to Dendustri, a division of Denel.

Dendustri, which has offices at Astro Park in Kempton Park and a factory in Richards Bay, is involved in design and development, project management, manufacturing and maintenance of components and infrastructural facilities of selected clients.

The agreement was concluded by Zeph Serepo, Managing Executive of arivia.kom`s Infrastructure Business division, with the General Manager of Dendustri, AA Kleingeld.

The hosting and connectivity services of the Infrastructure Business division of arivia.kom will supply all the services and support, while another arivia.kom business unit, Spartan Computer Rentals, is financing the once-off costs.

Says Serepo: "arivia.kom prides itself on its ability to provide totally integrated business solutions. This is achieved through its three lines of business each with distinctive areas of expertise of which Infrastructure Business is one division.

"We have extensive infrastructure capability and this contract with Dendustri demonstrates that we can provide a comprehensive infrastructure service to our clients using world-class solutions."

The contract covers the supply and maintenance of all the servers (database, application, e-mail and data); the maintenance of all desktop equipment (hardware and software); the provision of network connectivity between Richards Bay and Astro Park; the provision and management of Internet connectivity and e-mail facility; and the provision of specified first line support. It excludes the supply of the ERP system, which will be implemented by ESI.

Arivia.kom includes among its clients two of the world`s largest utilities, Eskom and Transnet, and it is involved in a wide range of industries and market sectors including logistics, the financial sector, healthcare and government. It is focused on expanding its markets locally, regionally throughout Africa, and internationally.
