Leaf invests in green tech firm

Biz Journals reports.

Leaf Clean Energy Company (AIM-LEAF) is a renewable energy and sustainable technology investment firm that invests in emerging growth companies and energy projects.

Lehigh is working to solve the problem of end-of-life tyres and other post-industrial rubber by turning them into a material that can be recycled into high-performance tyres, asphalt sealants, plastics and paints. Lehigh transforms scrap rubber material into a powder-like substance called micronised rubber powder through a high-efficiency milling process.

"We are pleased to add Leaf Clean Energy to our existing investor syndicate. Their approach to emerging sustainable technologies is aligned with Lehigh's strategies in our core markets. We are looking forward to working with them to expand our geographic and industry reach," PR Newswire quotes Alan Barton, CEO at Lehigh Technologies, as saying.

"Lehigh is a compelling investment because they address a major environmental problem with a product that has a great value proposition for their customers. Leaf's mission is to support companies that can achieve environmental sustainability with economically viable business models," said Bran Keogh, executive director of Leaf Clean Energy.
