Leaf secures GPRS agency

Leaf has exclusive rights to distribute the German-made Falcom Twist USB range of GPRS modems. The company has extended an invitation to potential channel partners for resale into the relevant territories.

The agency encompasses both SA and Nigeria. Leaf Wireless will take over support and maintenance responsibilities for existing users in these territories.

According to Quinton Leigh, executive director at Leaf Wireless: "The Falcom range enables mobile communication, for real-time interaction with the user`s business and their customers, no matter what the geography."

Features include dual-band GSM/GPRS, , SMS, data, fax, GPRS class B, multi-slot class 8, CS 1 - 4 and PBCCH support, up to 85.6/21.4kbps, USB 1.1 compliance, USB support for Windows 2000 and XP, dual-band antenna and USB cable.

The modem ships with a headset, which allows the device to operate as a hands-free GSM phone without the need for an external power source.

Supplementary services include call forwarding, phonebook, multi-party, call barring, fixed dialling number, call waiting and call hold, as well as call line identification. The device weighs in at 82g in a compact 118 x 52 x 56mm form factor, including antenna.
