Learn to sustain your business through the development of key relationships at the first ever Global Business Incubation Day

By The Innovation Hub
Johannesburg, 03 Dec 2008

Getting a technological business started or sustaining a business in the face of a worldwide economic crisis, is becoming increasingly challenging. It is therefore imperative to streamline your infrastructure and reduce costs wherever possible. One of the proven, most effective ways to do is through the development of key relationships and partnerships or associations that could allow you to create opportunities and expand your capacity, without necessarily increasing your overhead.

It is with this very objective in mind that Maxum Business Incubator is hosting a Global Business Incubation Day at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria on 8 December. This is the first ever event designed to celebrate the global impact of business incubation worldwide, highlighting the role that business incubation has in developing and growing innovation and entrepreneurship. In fact, according to the latest news, more than 1 700 incubators from 57 different countries around the world will have some form of activity to commemorate this special event on exactly the same day.

“The Global Business Incubation Day will be a two-tier event,” states Patricia Dlamini, Manager of Maxum Business Incubator at The Innovation Hub. “Firstly it will be a celebration of our incubation successes globally. Our incubation programme focuses on assisting technological start-up companies to establish themselves. This is done through providing expert guidance as well as the infrastructure they need to create a solid foundation from which sustainable growth can take place. And our track record for the past years yet again illustrates that this recipe works.” For more information on how a start-up or young business can gain from forming part of such an Incubation Programme, visit http://www.theinnovationhub.com

Patricia continues to explain that the second reason for the Global Business Incubation Day is to create a golden opportunity for entrepreneurs and businesses to network, meet valuable new contacts, gain and share knowledge and learn, while in a relaxed environment. “The event will take on the form of a round table discussion, where each table will be hosted by an industry expert. We received excellent feedback from businesses that managed to forge powerful partnerships through such networking events in the past. The Global Business Incubation Day will once again create such a platform from which entrepreneurs and companies can meet and explore future business possibilities.”

So why should you attend? “We have carefully selected a guest list of industry leaders that can truly add value for pioneers and companies within the technology arena,” says Patricia. “This includes the likes of Neo Rampa; Manager of the Enterprise Development Centre of Absa (Pretoria North); Robert Jewell, CEO of Jewell & Co, which specialises in accounting for entrepreneurs; Brian Carl Brown, COO of Blue Catalyst, a highly efficient Network Portal; Stephen Larkin, CEO of Acqumine, the Mine Safety Division of Ilali Group, and a host of other specialists. Furthermore, entrepreneurs and young start-up enterprises that attend, will gain exposure to the benefits of Maxum. With an incredible 80% success ratio of companies who formed part of Maxum and who are still conducting business effectively, there is no doubt that Maxum is the place to be.”

The event is co-hosted with Women in Finance through Hot Tables Dinner. To attend the event contact Nadia on 082 336 6374 or nadia@1618events.co.za, alternatively Maritza on 072 397 9599 or maritza@1618events.co.za.
