Computer tech firm Lenovo has appointed Marc Godin as vice-president and general manager, to lead the company's business in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, effective immediately.
In a statement, Lenovo says Godin succeeds Oliver Ebel, who has moved to head up the company's smartphone business across EMEA.
Godin's career spans 28 years, having held sales, marketing and supply chain leadership roles at Lenovo and IBM, across PCs, enterprise and public sector.
Prior to this role, Godin was VP of the UK and Ireland region, the statement notes. Before his UK and Ireland role, he led the enterprise and public sector business at Western European level.
EMEA president and senior VP of the Lenovo Group, Eric Cador, says: "The MEA region continues to be a critical part of EMEA in terms of both our growth ambitions and the opportunity it presents.
"Marc's experience and track record of growing businesses is the perfect leadership we need in MEA to build on the success of Oliver," he adds.
Lenovo's Africa Group GM Graham Braum says 28% of the company's business comes from EMEA. In Africa, Lenovo has a PC market share of 21%, according to the International Data Corporation.
