Prior to the installation of Panda Cloud Fusion, Lesedi Nuclear Services had no remote access to any of its 200+ workstations and IT managers had to travel between its two main branches ? Koeberg Nuclear Power Station in Cape Town and Medupi Coal Power Station in Limpopo ? whenever a problem occurred.
This was not only costly in terms of travel expenses, but was also time-consuming. Time spent repairing problems on an employee's computer resulted in downtime and decreased workflow.
Darren Hammond, IT Supervisor/Area Manager, conducted the deployment of Panda's Cloud Fusion remotely and completed the installation in under two days.
According to Hammond, the integration was seamless and employees were unaffected by the implementation. The ability to manage deployment of additional software from a single location, without interrupting workflow, is one of the main features that appealed to the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company.
"We are a company that employs over 300 people and we work with delicate information on a daily basis. We needed a solution that allowed us to protect the content that we deal with, as well as manage employees' devices from a remote location, while remaining unobtrusive. Fast and effective off-premises remote access was one of the most appealing features that Panda offered," explains Hammond.
Hammond commented that since the implementation of Panda, Lesedi's systems run faster, benefiting from Panda's light footprint compared with the previously installed AV, which caused lag. He also says the interface is very user friendly and simple to manage.
Panda Cloud Fusion includes a comprehensive set of cloud-based solutions embracing endpoint security, management and support. The security and management components are grouped into a single sign-on console enabling quick and easy access by system administrators. Lesedi has found it to be an easy and affordable way to manage, monitor and support all of the devices from a central location, largely removing the need to travel to other sites - thereby saving time and reducing travel costs.

Lesedi is now able to provide remote management and reports timeously, thus improving the efficiency of the IT team and ensuring that end users are less aware of intrusion.
