Lexign announces global partnership with Compaq

Partnership to enable customers to increase efficiency and improve security with eSign Products Worldwide
Johannesburg, 24 Jan 2002

Lexign, Inc, the leading provider of integrated software solutions for customers that require a trusted environment for e-business, today announced it has entered into a global partnership and asset transfer agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation.

Under the terms of the agreement, Compaq Global Services will resell and implement the Lexign Suite, the industry`s first comprehensive, trusted transaction management solution that enables organisations to increase efficiency, improve security and save money by moving traditionally paper-intensive processes to the Web. The companies will engage in joint marketing and training activities focusing on several vertical markets, including financial services, government and healthcare.

"Customers are seeking increased security, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in their e-business transactions and look to skilled services partners to provide comprehensive solutions," said Frank Lanza, Director, Enterprise Ready Microsoft Practice, Compaq Global Services. "This new partnership with Lexign and transfer of software assets will allow Compaq Global Services` experienced services professionals to expand their world-class services that transform IT technologies into business solutions."

In addition to the global partnership, Compaq will transfer the software assets of Work Expeditor and LinkWorks to Lexign. Work Expeditor is a collaborative work management solution for managing documents and data as they move from initial creation to final archiving, and LinkWorks is a solution framework for mission-critical, document-based business processes. Compaq will transfer all maintenance responsibilities for these two workflow products to Lexign and will work actively with Lexign to facilitate transition. Compaq will also provide consulting services to current customers and convert their Work Expeditor and LinkWorks applications to Lexign`s platform.

"This agreement with Compaq strengthens our ability to extend the benefits of the Lexign Suite around the world," said Don Byrne, Lexign`s CEO and president. "Compaq`s strong global presence in the Internet applications arena will enable Lexign to further differentiate the company from its competitors."

As a result of this agreement, Compaq has designated Lexign as a preferred supplier of e-signature compliance solutions worldwide and Lexign has selected Compaq as a Lexign premiere integration partner.
