Integrated within the X7170, the Lexmark Productivity Suite Software meets these needs via an intuitive graphical user interface. Users can:
* Create multiple page portable document files (PDFs), from a variety of formats, into a single document for storage and distribution;
* Convert hard copy pages into text files that can be edited and scanned-to-e-mail via Lexmark Optical Character Recognition (OCR) program;
* Use thumbnail images and drag-and-drop functionality to print, fax, email, convert to another format or archive any document with just a few keystrokes;
* Upload images from PictBridge-enabled cameras to edit, organise and print high-definition colour photos; and
* View flash tutorials, download templates and receive Lexmark product updates via Web links.
High-resolution scanner
The X7170 features the industry`s highest resolution flatbed scanner - 1 200 x 4 800 dots per inch (dpi) resolution - with 48-bit colour depth and CCD technology that can scan photos, reports and even three-dimensional objects.

For professionals seeking colour-infused documents and photos, the X7170 boasts borderless printing capabilities, optional six-colour support* and a maximum 4 800dpi print resolution. With monochrome print speeds of up to 22 pages-per-minute (ppm) in black, reports are ready when deadlines loom.
Versatile paper-handling system
The front-loading paper path with a 4-inch x 6-inch input tray handles a variety of media types including transparencies, heavy card stock, envelopes and labels. Automatic paper sensing technology helps ensure professional grade output regardless of the medium, without manual adjustment.
Easy-to-use LCD screen
The text LCD screen helps users execute many functions quickly, without the use of a PC. A 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) and 150-page input tray help process large copy, scan and fax jobs.
Standalone capabilities
Standalone colour copy capabilities allow users to reproduce photos and documents with the touch of just one button. The X7170 fax capabilities include 400 x 400dpi resolution and 33.6Kbps colour options with convenience features including 100-page memory and 79 speed dials.
Network support
The Lexmark X7170 offers network support, and optional Ethernet and wireless network adapters so users have the flexibility to position the printer virtually anywhere in the home or office for access by multiple users.
